Looking for a fun way to celebrate the start of summer? Or the release of Disney’s Finding Dory? Why not plan an under the sea water party for your littles to run off some energy and enjoy their friends?
I recently teamed up with Monika from Hello Brielle to throw an Under the Sea themed water party for our littlest friends. She designed the invitation, and everything else fell into place from there.
Decor:
The ombre scallop on the invitation Hello Brielle designed was the inspiration for our backdrop. We created it (as well as the tablecloth on our food table) from multiple plastic tablecloths. Other decorative elements were fish cutouts (purchased at Party City), balloon “bubbles,” streamer “seaweed,” puffball “anemones,” jellyfish lanterns, shells & starfish, and some real live fish.
Food:
We wanted out tiny guests to have fun food that included some healthy options. So in addition to our cookies and cake-pops, we made sure to serve things 8-legged monsterella sticks, fishy fruit and octoveggies with hummus.
- Under the Sea Jello Cups
- Crabby Cake Pops & Swimming in the Sea Cake Pops
- Sea Creature Cookies
- Fishy Fruit
- 8-Legged Monsterella Sticks
- School of Goldfish
- Octoveggies & Hummus
- Blue Crush Punch & Ocean Water Iced Tea
Favors:
Our favors were mini edible “aquariums.” Inside were nerds, swedish fish, a gummy shark, and a chocolate shell.
We also had sunscreen available for anyone who might need to re-apply.
Activities:
To entertain our littles, we provided a variety activities for the to enjoy. There were some simple options like a crazy sprinkler, kiddie pools and water tables, but we also offered water guns, goldfish “fishing” (those poor, poor fish) and a water balloon toss. Which, incidentally, doesn’t really work with toddlers. But who needs a perfectly run water balloon toss anyway?

Delightful as always. Always a treat to see your party planning beauties !
I’m wondering where you found those small blue fish nets? I’ve been searching all over for something like this but not luck.
I can’t remember specifically where they came from, but I know I got the fish, rocks and bowls from Walmart so maybe they came from there. You could also try a pet supply store. Hope you’re able to find some!
How did you cut out the tablecloths ?
