I love magazines. There’s just something so gratifying about holding it in my hands and flipping actual pages, rather than staring at a screen and swiping. If I can ever find a few minutes to spare, I love looking through my accumulated stack of magazines, admiring the beautiful ideas, drooling over recipes, or wanderlusting over new and exotic places to travel. A few years ago my sister in law brought to my attention what has become my new favorite magazine for obvious reasons: Mingle Magazine. It is a party magazine with “creative ideas for unique gatherings”, and some of our favorite event planners from across the nation are featured in it’s pages. Many times, flipping through those alluring pages, I dreamed of one day having one of our own events in print. Well that day has finally arrived, and needless to say, we are literally giddy over our Whimsical Woodland Easter Egg Hunt being published in the Winter 2018 issue Mingle Magazine!
I think part of what makes this feature even more exciting is that our children were a part of if. Over the years, most of our events have centered around our children. But as our business grew and we started taking on more and more clients, there was less time to do our own events. I had been wanting to do an Easter party for quite some time, and last spring we decided to make it happen. It was primarily a styled shoot with our and our friends’ children as the models (sorry kids, there’s not actually candy in those eggs) and we all had such a fun time together. The kids were actually surprisingly excited to repeatedly hide and hunt for the same 12 candy-free eggs. It just made this feature extra special for us. So last week, when the issue hit newsstands, we took all the children on a little field trip to Barnes and Noble where, instead of hunting for eggs, we hunted for a magazine containing their pictures and an event they were a part of.
So as I’m sure you can imagine, we’re pretty excited, not only to be featured in a printed publication, but to be featured in one we admire so much. To see our feature, along with some other really great events, you can grab a copy of Mingle at your local Barnes & Noble. You can also order directly from their website if you don’t feel like dealing with the current weather situation (does anyone else just feel like hiding in their house by the fireplace and drinking coffee all day?).
